If you said "Yes", then I cannot wait to share with you what I discovered about this crazy little side-hustle I turned into a full-fledged booming business that has generated $172,655 in the last 12 months alone and this was again with ZERO experience, ZERO employees, and ZERO dollars out of pocket...
That's right. I never even invested ANY money into this because my clients funded my business from day one.
Hi, Matt Stefanik here, former founder of Funnel Buildr - the world's first standalone funnel building app for Shopify.
I've been an entrepreneur my entire life and I've done everything from delivering newspapers, mowing lawns, and shoveling snow as a kid to flipping houses, internet marketing, affiliate marketing, product launches, MLM and direct sales, selling t-shirts, doing webinars, marketing consulting, Shopify, software, building websites and sales funnels, and more...
So I can tell you after all I've seen and done, this business is incredible...
Barn doors are so HOT right now, It's almost like selling drugs lol. You don't actually have to "sell" drugs - you just have to offer them and you'll have buyers (at least from what I gather 🤷).
Seriously, I have more business than I can handle right now.
And it's allowed me to completely step away from all of the bullshit over the past 2-3 years - nobody has been able to tell me I have to do something I don't want to do to keep my J.O.B. (just over broke).
I work for myself.
I choose when and how much I work. I never miss any of my kid's school functions. I don't have to commute to a JOB I hate or deal with any crazy office politics.
I have total control over my own time, life, and decisions.
I refuse to have it any other way.
Even when things change - particularly like we've seen in the past 3 years.
I just couldn't stand to be online anymore but I knew I had to do something to continue to enjoy the lifestyle I and my family have become accustomed to over the past 20 years.
I stumbled upon this business by accident really. I was just building things out of repurposed pallets in my garage as a hobby and as a creative outlet.
One day I decided to see if I could sell any of my handmade wares.
So, I created an ad and the results were shocking.
I discovered there was a massive demand for barn doors and other custom built products and NOBODY was doing it.
And I live in a major metropolitan area so you would think there'd be plenty of companies to pick from.
Nope.
I had discovered an untapped GOLD MINE!
Business has not slowed down one bit because, despite the economy being trash lol, people are spending an ASTOUNDING amount of money improving their homes.
And the stats back me up:
"The home service market gained a new level of awareness and popularity following the overwhelming impact of Covid-19 on human welfare and overall economic growth.
As people retreated to their homes, consumer spending followed and there was an unexpected boom of economic activity around the home. This shift in spending to the home from activities like eating at restaurants or traveling, combined with existing strong demographic, economic, and cultural tailwinds has resulted in considerable growth in the size of the total addressable home service market.
No longer are homes strictly assets we use to force us to save—they are the new center of our personal and professional lives. Home spending decisions are more and more being driven not only by pressing
maintenance repairs, but now also by enjoyment, utility and lifestyle.
The housing stock continues to age, with the average age of a home now over 40 years old, and continuing to age as the rate of new home construction - between 500,000 and 1,500,000 new units per year - is not enough to bring down the average age of the 141,500,000 existing housing units.
...Conversely, the younger millennial generation is hitting its peak homebuying age (early 30s), meaning a new influx of homeowners looking for their dream home is putting upward pressure on the demand for remodeling."

Translation?
Our home is no longer just a nest egg to lay our heads at night - it has become an extension of our personalities as well as, for many people, where we work (whether part time or full time).
One good thing that came out of the sc@mdemic is that companies and employees realized they could work from home (so I've been busy helping homeowners create offices out of formal dining rooms).
Also, the average age of existing homes is now 40 so it makes sense why so much money is pouring into renovations.
Plus, there aren't enough home service peeps to keep up with market demand.
Us entrepreneurs look at situations like this and recognize what it is:
OPPORTUNITY.
If this were a franchise, it would be $20k+ up front to get started, but you can start now at home with the tools you have and have your clients pay for materials.
My recommended pricing is based on multiple price increases and market testing and is currently at around a 70% profit margin.
Your clients put down a deposit on their order to get onto your build queue but this also pays for all your hardware and materials.
Working from home has many advantages including low overhead, no commute, and tons of time saving.
This is the perfect family-run business. Both my boys have helped me paint/stain doors and also install which makes for many teachable moment opportunities.
We the People are tired of woke corporations pushing an agenda. The push for shopping local has never been stronger.
While there are several contractors and handy types that "could" compete, nobody has my systematic approach from A to Z.
Again, barn doors are super hot right now and when something else comes along that's trending, you can offer it too, but you have to be in the game!
Barn doors are big and bulky so not easily shipped which means a major national player cannot easily step in and disrupt business.
Remember wood shop in high school? Our kids won't and its a shame. Skilled labor is in jeopardy in this country and you get to help bring it back.
The sales I've shown are from 1-2 clients/week. Could I do more? Yes, but I favor life balance. How far you take this business is up to you.
Total, I work no more than about 4 hrs/day which leaves me plenty of time to travel, work on other things, and enjoy other aspects of my life.
All my clients are THRILLED when I show up because they chose to get a barn door - I'm not there because something broke.
My only commute is the 1-2 installs I do per week and the trips to Lowe's and Home Depot - what a life! 🙂
This is not a seasonal business so I have clients year round and continue to pay myself the same thing every week.
Speaking of the seasons...it doesn't matter if it's cold as ice or hotter than hell, I'm working comfortably indoors.
I cover about a 35-mile radius from my home so there's plenty of room nationwide for operators just like me to flourish.
Want to stay a solopreneur or build a team to offer a broader range of products and services? You can!
IMO, there's nothing more empowering as an American than owning your own business. What better than a business model built for Patriots by a Patriot. 😉
Most importantly, this business is something you can build up and sell if you ever choose to do so. How many internet-based businesses can say that?
Which one of the following statements do you think are true?
IF you said "all of the above," you are CORRECT...
Depending on who you ask and where you live, that is.
Seriously, if you want to waste your time, go do an internet search for "barn doors in style," and "barn doors out of style," and you will find countless articles to support both notions for every season in the last 10 years.
My point is...
Maybe they are, maybe they aren't.
Maybe they will, maybe they won't.
Who cares because I just signed another barn door client.
Don't get me wrong - it's a valid thought.
Things always change. I mean nobody had a "drop zone" in their house when I was growing up.
You know the little bench seats with the cubbies underneath right when you walk in from the garage with the bead board backing and a few hooks for bookbags and jackets?
Every new house has one.
And when you open shop, are in the game, and learn the valuable skills I'm about to equip you with, it's just another product you can start offering.
Which reminds me...
Barn doors are NOT the only handmade custom product you can be offering to your clients in your area.
Notice how I always refer to my clients as "clients" and not "customers?"
This is because a customer is someone you sell a product or service to.
A client is a customer you build a relationship with.
Why do I want to build a relationship?
Because 100% of my clients are homeowners and I am in the "home improvement" business.
"I'm so glad you love your new barn doors and thank you for the opportunity to be of service to you. Now here are all the other ways I can help you improve the value of your home."
Get it?
Here are just some of the products and services you could also be building and offering locally:
Seriously, how many more products and services can you think of?
Heck, you could probably find 100+ more products just searching any of these items above on Pinterest.
You can offer anything that doesn't require a General Contractor's License (so check your local requirements).
Actually, you could build an entire business around just doing ONE of several of the items I listed above.
And if you offered all or most of them?...
You would have more business than you could ever handle because you would have ZERO competition.
We just launched so they'll be more to come. Will it be yours?

“ Matt and his Barn Door Biz in a box gave me the confidence to take the plunge and leverage my skills into starting something I've never done before, a business. He's been through the process and has the experience to help answer questions and offer support as needed, from marketing tips to lumber and creative construction solutions. His videos are informative and engaging. I've been very busy building barn doors in the last several months since I started the program and can't wait to see where this business goes. Thanks a lot, Matt, my door building brother! ”

In module 1, I share with you how to get started with first things first: GET CLIENTS. Before you spend any time "setting up shop," buying any tools you might be missing, and even before building a single door, I show you step-by-step how to run my exact ad to start filling up your "build queue" and collecting deposits so your clients fund your business just like mine did.
I also show you how to communicate with clients and provide quotes using my 10-page copy/paste canned response cheat sheet with my recommended price list built right in.
It's PRICELESS! lol
In module 2, I walk you through setting up and sending invoices and also share with you the free online tool I use to manage all my clients and client workflow. This one incredible tool will help you manage everything yourself but also it's perfect for teams and keeping everyone on the same page.
I also show you how to get your business listed on Google Maps so you can start building your local business and collecting 5-star reviews!
In module 3A, I cover the various types of doors you'll be building and how they differ from one another. I also take you shopping with me and show you how to buy the materials you'll need to build your doors, particularly how to deal with the many wood defects you'll encounter - what you can still use and what you must avoid.
In module 3B, I show you step-by-step how to build the bread and butter door of this business - the basic standard style barn door. These doors are the most affordable, the most common type you'll build, and the ones that pay the bills. I say "basic" but I'm on my 5th version of this build type - so glad I didn't launch this course back when I was building them wrong!
In module 3C, I show you step-by-step how to build my favorite type of barn door - the bi-fold barn door. A spin on the classic (that everyone hates), these doors look like regular barn doors with the same rails and same looking hangers, but provide the perfect functionality for tight spaces or openings with little to no wall space. These things are so cool! (and again NO ONE is offering them!)
In module 3D, I show you step-by-step how to build the most profitable high-ticket project I offer - framed glass barn doors! I say the standard style doors pay the bills (like hitting singles), but the glass doors are *DING DONG* straight homers! And a set of 4 glass bypass doors are grand slams every time.
In module 3E, I show you how to build another high-profit door - custom (premium) style doors. These are the dream doors people find on Pinterest which means you can charge a lot for them. The best part is, the more difficult the design, the more skills you develop and the more designs you can take on in the future. I've built a few bookshelf barn doors that were unbelievable!
In module 3F,yet another highly profitable build type - custom designed glass doors. While the framed glass doors above are typically half glass, 2/3rd's length, or 3/4 length, the custom glass doors are built completely different and again broaden your skill set to where you might just start getting an ego - or maybe that's just me.
In module 4A, I discuss the various types of installations you'll be doing, how they differ, and when to recommend which type. I have run into every type of problem imaginable and learned the hard way on installs so you won't have to.
I then show you how and where to buy (and what not to buy) your hardware to create your "hardware packages."
I'm also going to show you the KILLER ethical upsell that, no joke, has a 100% take rate! You read that right. Never in my life, in all the businesses I've owned both on and offline have I ever had an upsell that converted on everyone I offered it to until now.
In module 4B, I walk you through step-by-step how to install the easiest install you'll do - the single sliding barn door. When I first started it was taking me 3-4 hours because I was doing so much WRONG. I have now perfected my process so well that it typically takes me 45mins to 1hr. My record? 41 minutes. BTW, my cheapest installation package is $350.
In module 4C, I'll show you how to install double traditional barn doors that meet in the middle and open outward. These can be tricky because they close together in the middle and the seam has to be even from top to bottom (plumb) and also align front to back. Again, I have encountered every issue so I've learned all the tricks of the trade to ensure a perfect result.
In module 4D, I'll show how to install an alternative to the double traditional barn doors - bypass barn doors. These are what we install when there's no room on either side of the opening for traditional barn doors to slide open to. There's two types of these installs - double and single rail. I'll share with you the pros and cons of each and which I recommend and why.
In module 4E, I show you step-by-step how to install the single bi-fold to achieve a flawless result. The real secret to this type of install starts back at the shop and you'll understand why once you're inside the training.
In module 4F, I discuss one of the most difficult install types to perfect - the double bi-fold. Good luck with the instructions that come with these kits - I consider myself a smart dude (and obviously a handy one) but my first double bi-fold took me 5 hours. Now? 75-90mins, an awesome payday, and then I golf.
In module 4G, I share with you something I encounter on several installs - removing the existing casing above the opening and replacing it with our own header board. There's several instances when this is ideal - I show you why, when to recommend it, and how to complete it like a pro as if the builder did it this way.
In module 5, I discuss further growing your business by utilizing different advertising means, how to retarget your website visitors to make your company look like "you're everywhere," how to learn and capitalize on mistakes, get reviews, and even the additional products you can start offering when you're ready.
In module 6, you'll find all the resources from throughout the course in one location for you to access at any time.
You didn't think I was just going to give you access to the training and all the tried-and-true, learned-the-hardware business lessons that has allowed me to continue to do whatever the hell I want, did you?
No, no.
I want to make sure I provide you with every available tool and resource I can...

If I were to hand you the keys to a business that just did $172,000+ in the last 12 months...
How much would you expect to pay for it?
$50,000?
$75,000?
$100,000?
Would you buy that business for 1x annual rev ($172,000) knowing you'd own it outright, be debt free, and profitable in less than 2 years?
But don't worry, you're not going to have to make that kind of investment today.
No, not even close.
If this were a franchise, you could easily expect to pay $25,000 or more in startup cost plus you'd be expected to pay around 8% of gross revenue in franchising fees and royalties (around $14,00/year).
Although that's very appealing to me, I'm not going that route at this point.
I want YOU to be successful.
I want you and your family to thrive.
I want to do my part to breathe life back into the American Dream and encourage business ownership so you too can live an amazing life contributing love, peace, prosperity, and positivity to the collective consciousness...
...that I'm going to make you an incredible offer so you can get started today...
And start building the life you deserve.

Will I need a license?
Generally speaking, no you won't need a "general contractor's" license but you'll need to check with your state's laws. If you don't already own a business, you might need a business license depending on your jurisdiction.
What If I don't have a garage?
Find a friend, relative, neighbor, or someone you know not using theirs and offer to rent the space from them or partner with someone who does. Entrepreneurs find a way.
What if I have no tools whatsoever?
Even if you have to start from scratch, you could get away with spending between $700-$1000 to start. Again, don't spend a dime until you book some clients and take in deposits to hopefully come out of pocket very little if at all.
What If I don't have a truck?
Find a friend, relative, neighbor, or someone you know who's truck you can borrow or partner with someone who does. Entrepreneurs find a way. I started out putting doors on top of our Volvo XC90 SUV until I bought a truck about 8 months in.
Can I do this part time?
Absolutely! You can do this as a "side hustle" and build it up over time or not - it's up to you!
